But I don't have the time, money, and welding equipment or a friend with those, so I've used this adapter on a couple of bikes now with good results. Just needed a bit of grinding of the outer plate to clear the stays. It's also about to become a disco bike, thanks to the stripped raw Surly fork, and an adapter for the frame. Mainly becuse I need the rim brake wheels for another project, and I got the Mavic 317s for less than 30 bucks, so why not. The modified rack is from an old Honda postie bike apparently, thanks to my mate who dug it out of a pile of junk. One of the 'problems' with HeadShok Cannondales is One of the 'problems' with HeadShok Cannondales is getting a stem to customise the cockpit, ie one that is less than 140mm and a crazy angle. I love the @tinker.juarez old-school look, but not the extreme riding position. It's not 1996 anymore! It was @bikelifesupplyco and @reversecomponents to the rescue with their S-Trail stem. It only comes in 60mm, maybe an 80 would've done the @cannondalemountain F1000 a little better, but this is exponentially better both up and down.
