What better way to honour a dead rock star than with a set of postage stamps. Ah, but Bowie was no mere rock star, and the British are known to commemorate their heroes in a most peculiar way. Royal Mail has just upped their rock star reverie game with a ten-stamp homage to the Thin White Duke himself.

Six of the stamps feature the covers of Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane, Heroes, Let’s Dance, Earthling and last year’s parting gift Blackstar, while another four feature images from the 1973 Ziggy Stardust tour, the 1978 Stage tour, the 1983 Serious Moonlight tour, and the 2004 Reality tour.

Rumour has it that in preliminary testing, Bowie himself was impressed with the adhesive qualities and ease of use; it is reported “he could lick em by smiling”.
