Is there a more polarising cycling company than Rapha? Never has a manufacturer of clothing for riding bikes in been so lambasted, mainly for their high prices, but also for the moody videos they produce which are seen by some as elitist, too hip or just plain wanky. Personally I love their gear, even if I can’t afford it, and videos such as the Gentlemen’s Ride series set a mood and are somewhat inspiring. Isn’t that what a bike company is supposed to do?

Every festive season Rapha holds a challenge for anyone to take on, riding 500 kilometres over the eight days between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and documenting it by photo, film or words. One of the best Festive 500 films we’ve seen is this visual feast from Ivan Bellaroba, who rode and filmed his ride from Edinburgh through the Scottish Highlands to Dunnet Head, the northernmost point in Great Britain. In winter. Solo. Mad.
