In this five part YouTube series, Solido Studio explores the gravity racer culture in Medellín Columbia. They document a group of Medellín mad dogs that have modded-out BMX frames to race downhill on some of the coolest winding Colombian public roads.

There’s no pedaling involved obviously, dumbbells replace cranks and the frames have been stretched out for a longer and more speed efficient profile. Some are more industrial looking than others but all have that original BMX DNA retained.

Run-ins with the law and crashes are all a part of the deal and this being South America, safety seems more of an afterthought. Racing downhill and weaving around traffic at speeds of around 100kph in jeans might not be for everyone but these blokes have cajones.
