I’ve always had a soft spot for Moby ever since reading the liner notes for Play, which had a significant influence on where my lifestyle and values lay today. Plus that album still stands up as a great piece of music, and he’s a good-looking fella! So it’s good to hear some new music from him is on the way in the form of an album titled Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt, out on Friday, March 2.

The first single Mere Anarchy is accompanied by a stark, grim and foreboding video that Moby describes as “post apocalypse, people are gone, and my friend Julie and I are time traveling aliens visiting the empty Earth.” It’s probably more fact than fiction the way things are going, but at least we still have music.

Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt is a glowing tapestry exploring spirituality, individuality and the brokenness of humanity and finds him returning to his orchestral, soul, trip-hop and gospel roots.

Moby has curated a playlist of artists that influences the recording of Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt. This playlist will also be the first place fans can hear new Moby music. Listen and subscribe here.
