How does music make you feel? Does it evoke memories of places and people past, fill you with joy, or sadness, or are you one of those people that when asked has a blanket reply of “Oh I don’t really care, I like anything on the radio really…” If it’s the latter, then you may have no soul.

Music––proper music made by real musicians who were born to produce their art, not a manufactured pretty boy/girl churning out small doses of saccharine that will be forgotten next week except for the aural diabetes you’re left with––should stir strong emotions both mental and physical; there are certain artists who consistently elicit a strong case of frisson upon my body, usually the arms, sometimes all over the body and down the legs, and always in the mind. That’s a powerful medium.

While that description may be wanting or is overstretching in its attempt to explain it, this brilliant short film from artist Mac Premo where he garners a delineation from Jad Abrumrad does a way better job of breaking down just what the function of music is.

The story behind the video is just as remarkable as the result…
