23 Days In July
It’s been a week of discovery and rediscovery for Skippy Week as we’ve looked back at the career of Phil Anderson. We’d been well aware of his feats at Le Tour, where he became the first non-European to ever wear the yellow jersey, and his power and poise in the one-day classics. We learned he loves a beer or two and rode a dodgy magnesium bike, then rocked a sweet ponytail before retiring to his farm in rural Victoria.
But we had never heard of this doco film before, as a crew followed Le Skippy during the 83 Tour. Produced and directed by Australian film maker Tim Sullivan, it’s a great look at the great race and the man who put Australian cycling on the world map. Cheers Skip!
