For a while in the early 2000s I was fascinated by hack bikes, beer bikes, any kind of machine that had been cobbled together from old bits and served a utilitarian purpose, which mainly meant carrying as much beer to a fire as possible.

Tall bikes kept popping up on sites such as Chunk 666 but looked so ridiculous and seemingly impossible to ride that they were always dismissed as something that freaks did. This film series from Red Bull does little to dispel that notion in my mind, at least the bit about being bloody difficult to ride. Though these devotees make it look so easy and their philosophies almost make it sound sensible. Almost.
