Phil’s hilariously insightful take on the locals of Boulder sets the scene for another gripping episode of the Worst Retirement Ever. In this, part one of a two-pronged attack on the Flagstaff segment (Colorado’s answer to Alpe d’Huez), Phil is definitely in for a tough one going up against the best time of infamous smug cunt and Armstrong-era doper Levi Leipheimer. 

After a sleeveless cookie-shirted recon of the hill and a strategic meeting of the minds, Phil goes on full attack with a perfectly cadenced and watt-bomb-dropping effort whilst rocking a new speedsuit and mini aero bars in an attempt to shave off those precious seconds and take one back for the good guys. 

Entertaining as always, this series never fails to deliver and with part two still on the way it’s a cliffhanger.
