The good crew from Bombtrack are nothing if not mavericks when it comes to travelling afar for the biggest, longest and toughest gravel/adventure events in Europe. I have known Clem for a few years now and was lucky enough to meet owner Manuel and legend Stefan ‘Fish’ Vis at the Malteni Bootleggers in Belgium in April. Over several beers (and way too many kilometres the next day) we found plenty of common ground, not least Manuel’s love of NZ bands, and I discovered that one of the original Bombtrackers, Rich, now lives in Christchurch. Manuel concluded that I “would definitely fit to the mob, it’s all about riding and drinking”. I think that’s a glowing endorsement, I’m taking it as one anyway. Now, where’s my new bike, Manuel… I need to fit in!
