How Bikes Make Cities Better: London
Maybe it was because I got ripped off. Maybe it was because it took most of my savings, legally. Maybe it was the bitter cold and the over-proliferation of Oasis at the time. Most likely though, it was because I wasn’t seeing it from a bike that I just didn’t get on very well with London.
The latest Kona Dew Files video really does make London look cool and a great place to ditch the car. Getting around with Dr Dew is cyclocross legend Helen Wyman and a man called Sally as they meet some locals and look at the infrastructure putting bikes at the top of the transport chain in one of the world’s busiest cities.
His name is Dew. Dr. Dew. In this episode our vagabond traveler has made his way to London with a few friends and a handful of Kona’s Steel Road bikes to further investigate how bikes make cities cool. From the coffee shop to the bike superhighway, Dew explores the British capital with hopes that he might catch sight of agent 007.Dew and his crew of urban adventurers chose bikes from our Steel Road lineup for their time in London: the Roadhouse, Penthouse, and Paddy Wagon. Lively and durable, Kona started with steel bikes back in 1988 and this heritage is engrained in the Steel Road line. Take one for a spin, and you’ll quickly realize that all the talk about how “steel is real” is more than just talk.
