The Stooges were pure Raw Power, and at the eye of the maelstrom was of course Iggy Pop. To attempt to tame him, and them, well it couldn’t be taken on by any mere mortal, and so the torrent of rage continued on until, well, it’s still swirling today.

As far as filmmakers capable of capturing the decades of decadence go, it could really only be down to a small handful, and Jim Jarmusch is a wonderful choice for the task. Gimme Danger, if this trailer is anything to go by, is a must-see for anyone who witnessed the path of drug-fuelled destruction wrought upon audiences, himself and the very fabric of music from the 60s to the present day, and a great history lesson for those who want to see how it was, and should always be done.
