Roubaix Week: Hayman’s Zwift Recovery
It’s the most exciting week in professional road cycling… the Spring Classics bookended with the two greatest monuments, the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) and the Queen of the Classics, Paris-Roubaix.
Last year’s edition of the Hell of the North was a true fairytale story, with the King of Belgium Tom Boonen going for the record number of wins, while unsung Aussie battler Mathew Hayman was lining up for his 15th tilt without much thought of a win. It will forever be remembered as a race for the ages, and for the little guy, no matter how big he is.
This short film is essentially an advertisement for the Zwift training system, but what better testimonial is there than a win in the biggest race in Spring? It does a greater job though of documenting a ride of a lifetime which proves that six weeks on a trainer is no substitute for fifteen years as a professional.
