Rat Rides: Big Mo Chopped and Locked
Our resident rat rider Ryan is back with another of his insane chop shop projects, this time a bastardised Big Mo utilising some, let’s say, unique parts to create a literal Frankenstein’s Chopper.
This project started out life as a standard Big Mo branded chopper. We cut off the rear end and used pulldown bars from a multigym as the frame extensions, which I had a friend at our local hotrod shop do all the welding on. I used rocker arms from a car rear suspension to extend out the front wheel. the seat pan and side panels on the frame are made from skateboard decks. The bike’s stand is also made from a rocker arm, and the front of the seat is attached using skateboard truck bushings. We gave the frame and fork a nice patina with a black basecoat, and on the top of the frame area’s a light coat of off-white, then red on top of that, and finally using steel wool to go over the paint to give the well-weathered and rusted effect.
